Morning Light

She got something i can’t say,
Shakes me up but that’s ok,
I see her in the dawn sunrise,
A glowing light shines from her eyes

Fire red and gold,
I’m on my knees,
She’s something to behold,
I’ll never cease to love her,
To love her

Just to see her walk the line,
Makes me sweat but I don’t mind,
A crowded room or desert plain,
I don’t care it’s all the same

She just lights the skies,
Up for me,
She’s filling all the nights,
With sweet harmonies,
I love her,
I love her

If she,
Rode in on the morning light,
I’d open up the window and I’m laughing out loud,
No more to say about her,
I’m sitting in silent wonder
And I’d suffer the world

She’s heaven with an angel’s face,
Though devil’s lurk in such a place,
Let her be the air you breath,
God himself needs sweet relief,

She just lights the skies,
Up for me,
She’s filling all the nights,
With sweet harmonies,
I love her,
I love her

Molehill

Frozen from sight,
Tucked on the inside,
Message is clear, oh yeah,
Bend it just right,
And all the words come tumbling free,
Oh yeah,
Fresh as the soaked up scars you hide so well,
Mission complete,
Façade achieved,
Like it or not the glass house which you dwell,
Sucks up the light for all to see;

Oh the sound that I feel yeah,
Got me setting in motion,
There’s a light that you hold when it breaks down,
Oh the heat of the sky,
Got me rolling in motion,
There’s a line that you hold when it breaks down

Focus up tight,
Memories of rapture
Sold for a fee,oh yeah,
Hard morning grin,
Terrified outside
Caught in a fair, bewarely breeze;
Traces that undermine the moment won,
Damage no root,
Prepare the way,
Loneliness calls on silent daily hell,
Conjuring up the world we seek;

Oh the sound that I feel ,
Got me setting in motion,
There’s a line that you hold when it breaks down,
Oh the heat of the sky,
Got me rolling in motion,
There’s a light that you hold when it breaks down

Already Done

Got a sign today,whilst looking up,
But just the other way;
It wasn’t so plain to see, quite what it was,
That was speaking to me;

They don’t seem to happen much,
These funny things to me,
They fly over my head;

Am I,
Already done,
Have I,
Lost the race before the running’s begun,
So tell me,
What would it take,
What would it take to go on,
Am I,
Already done;

It had this look about it,
That took me down,
Made me so dizzy to shout it;
Got the tingling bones all around,
Saying this ain’t me,
I thought I had my feet on the ground;

Am I,
Already done,
Have I,
Lost the race before the running’s begun,
So tell me ,
What would it take,
What would it take to go on,
Am I,
Already done
Have I,

Day Broken

Watching as the cross go high
Singing, hard for the time,
I never said goodbye;
Watching as the day she breaks,
Pulling hard on the line,
But I,won’t let it shake

Staring away at her leave again,
Won’t you dance into my eyes like I won’t see again,
Got a hold on that love that won’t believe again,
But it’s only for a moment

I’m, day broken,
Heart fallen,
Life’s peeling around me, Day broken,
Heart fallen,
Life’s beating around me

Tell me how it’s meant to be,
When the raw cry’s forgotten,
You walked in like a hurricane,
And left the tall trees shattered;
Let it be like you and I,
Never one word spoken,
After all, we’re nothing more,
Than the leaves left smoking’

I’m day broken,
Heart fallen,
Life’s peeling around me;
I’m day broken ,
Heart fallen,
Life’s beating around me;

Watching as the cross go high,
Singing hard for the time,
I never said goodbye

Stay With Me

I been gone , much too long
And I forget to see things your way
Took you by the hand
Squeezing tight to make you understand

All that I have left
Could not see at all
All I have left
Any man can fall

Stay with me
Stay with me and be my baby
Won’t you stay with me now
Stay with me and be my baby

I don’t cry much at all
But when I hear you I can fall asleep
Want you in my arms
Fighting for the life I’m trying to keep

All that I have left
Could not see at all
All I have left
Any man can fall

Stay with me
Stay with me and be my baby
Won’t you stay with me
Stay with me and be my baby

Take this broken heart, thinking
Been laying in the dark too long
Knew how it would be
Waiting half my life for love to see

All that I have left
Could not see at all
All I have left
Any man can fall

Stay with me
Stay with me and be my baby
Won’t you stay with me
Stay with me and be my baby

Day Broken is an output from life’s chance meetings. The fusion of three diverse people pulled together by music. The talented artist Samuel Gough and the passionate producer Sleep Deez found a shared contact in Aidan Clarke. This website and these songs are the first creative output for these three friends.

Samuel Gough

Born in London into an artistic family
Father a writer, mother and grandparents actors
Music a very early part of childhood, mostly classical
Choir and orchestra as young pup, rock ‘n’ roll stoked the fires as a teenager
Singing with cousin’s covers band around Mallorca
Toyed with idea of becoming opera singer, music college, that path
side tracked in London shows… a Hunchback, an Apostle, a Jewish fiddler
Love and children, Paris became home
On the edge of a strange city
Singing through the night in an ancient cave club
A blend of music essence starts to bleed through
Electro, folk, old time rock ‘n’ roll
A chance meeting at dawn that changed everything
LA beckoned once more, a record to be made
Here I find myself now, making the music that I always meant to.

Sleep “Deryk Mitchell” Deez

“Sleep Deez could arguably be one of the most important and creative forces in tomorrow’s music.” That’s a big compliment from former Warner Bros President, Kevin Black. His passionate approach to hip-hop, pop and R&B production and unique talent make him stand out. While most would be content with being a solid composer, his use of vintage synthesisers along with live instrumentation, gives his work a warmth and emotional honesty that is unique in a saturated industry. You could easily pick up a record for Rihana, Taylor Swift or Rick Ross in one trip to his Diamond Mine studio facility in Hollywood.

“My diversity comes from respecting the art of music, it just shows the love you have for the many different genres and styles of music.” A self proclaimed (and confirmed) workaholic, Sleep has always been a producer who challenges not only himself, but his audience and his fellow musicians with new ideas and innovative ways of expressing the joys and sorrows of life through music. Sleep Deez is currently paving the way for himself, producing and writing music for industry heavyweights. 2012 has brought Sleep a Grammy nomination for his work on Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor 2. Currently working closely with Atlantic Records, Warner Bros, Def Jam, and several other major labels, as well as being a cornerstone producer and partner for Beets & Produce Inc with founder Printz Board.

Aidan Clarke

Aidan has wisely followed his musician father’s words to “stay out of music and build a real career.” Until now. A love for music, and “the passion exuded from a musician capable of baring their soul and telling a story,” has been a force to strong to resist. Fortunately a successful career in Sales and Marketing, and most recently founding a very successful and fast growing global sportswear brand, gives Aidan the resource and space to engage in this personal project with Samuel and Sleep.
